Rollar Coaster

So are there any of you for which life is a Merry-Go-Round? Same thing day after day, year after year?

That has never been my life. Never. Mine is a rollar coaster; up, down, around the curve, up the hill. Keep your hands and arms inside the ride at all times.

This week, Pete broke his leg and Laurie had her baby. And that's not even recounting the more personal and private jogs.

It's enough to give a person whiplash. Really.

Oh, and I got to see Ken Jennings beaten in Jeopardy! by a computer. Who would have ever thought I'd live this long?

By the way, that baby, Thomas Reddick Allred, is beyond adorable and Pete is holding up as best as can be expected for an eagle with it's wings clipped.

Oh. My. Poor little Pete. And poor Pete's mom and gramma.

And how exciting to welcome a new baby into your life!

It never ends, does it?

I don't think any of the people in our family (immediate family, at least) are destined for the merry-go-round life. We've got the roller coaster gene...that's for sure. Your description of Pete being an eagle with his wing's clipped was perfect. That's exactly what he is. He's being a good little sport, but it's sad to see him so frustrated because he can't get around the way he used to. It's sad to watch him scoot and crawl around again after almost a year and a half of walking (he's been walking for a year and four months, to be exact)!

It tuckers me out because I have to carry him a lot more too. Well, let's just get the cast put on him on Wednesday morning and then my baby can come at any time. Hopefully, having a new baby around will make him want to sit and visit more...hey, I can hope!
