I am fascinated with society's fascination with famous people! When I was a little girl, I had a favorite fantasy and that was to be on a talk show. Okay, I know I am a gabby person. But it was more than that. I think it was the allure of having a captive audience to listen to me. The other part was that famous people just seemed so much to have it all together.
Now that I am older (ahem), I know they do not. But they fascinate me just the same. So on that note, if you are out there, who is the most famous person that you have ever met up close and personal? Who is the most famous person you've ever seen but didn't talk to?
Drum roll...........When the kids and I went to Disney World, we ate in the same restaurant as Patrick Duffy. I saw Robbie Benson (The Beauty & The Beast) once at a toy storeon Foothill Blvd. I have shaken Steve Young's hand. And when I was in New York, I saw Bowser from Sha Na Na. He was very grumpy looking, so maybe fame isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Oh my! My name dropping list is pathetic!

Well, I'm not all that into the typical celebrity, but I did get Jeff Gordan's autograph immediately after he qualified for a NASCAR race at Phoenix and I stood by the entrance to the garage, just 20 feet from Dale Earnhardt's trailer for uh, at least six hours in the hot Phoenix sun, watching him go in and out of his trailer, trying my best to convince the guard that I was most certainly invited in to meet with Earnhardt. Of course, I was most certainly not invited and most certainly not allowed in. But I was the most enthusiastic, entertaining gate crasher he'd ever met and he appreciated my efforts that made the time pass for him that day.
I worked graveyards in a convenience store in Cedar City while I was getting my degree. Twice Jimmy Osmond came in. He was a great kid! I met Frank Layden and Phil Reason (sp?) at a 7-11 I was working at later. Frank opened the ice machine door I was trying to fill for me.
I could walk right up to most celebrities today and not have a clue they were "anybody" though! I'm so out of touch lately!
I know personally, this current blogger. What a gift you are in my life! I wonder sometimes, if my writings make it out there, if you will be just as wowed to have known me! But that's ego talking!
I'm very wowed to know you! And that's friendship talking now!
