One of the things I really love is to get packages in the mail. I mean, seriously, how fun is that??? I think I've always loved getting things in the mail. Well, now UPS or FedEx does just as well. My sister, Theresa, is extraordinarily good about sending packages with the funnest things; little odds and ends, bags of candy, small gifts. It's always so exciting to see what she sends.
Today I went to UPS to send two packages. Laurie will be excited to get her lamp that she needs to do her art work and other assorted goodies. Maddie & Kinlie & Company will be so excited to get their little toys, new book, animal crackers, and jam. I wish I could be there when they open it, but it was pretty fun to send it. I hope it brings them pleasure.
Since we have to keep things even, I bought Pete a giant blue ball and a dvd of Milo & Otis. I'm excited to see him when he gets his gifts.
Simple pleasures are the best. Packages. Yeah, they're up there!

Oh how I dislike sending packages. The weighing, the standing in line, the teller that shuts there window just as you get to the front...
At least the UPS now has a box that will ship for the same low price if you can pack it!
The only thing about packages that I can even remotely get my head into is popping all them shipping package bubbles!
I guess you can tell that I rarely get anything fun in a package! I guess you can tell that I don't send much out!
And those guys in the trucks always manage to park just where I need to be...
Oh, don't get me started on packages!!!! LOL!
This was fun to read from your point of view! Ah, grandkids! Maybe I'll get into the package thing IF I EVER GET GRANDKIDS!
And I meant their instead of there and I do understand the difference but my fingers don't want to cooperate!
What about mine?
I love to get packages too. Until recently, when I discovered online shopping, I rarely received a package. I kinda overdid the online shopping, so I've had to forget about online shopping recently too. But every time I hear the delivery truck roar up the street, slam to a stop just long enough for the delivery guy to run to somebody's front door, ring the bell, drop off the package, run back to his truck, and scream it down the street, I remember how much I like to get packages.
Second best to getting a package is getting something in the mail that isn't junk mail or a bill, but instead something that comes from somebody who you know and love--but all of that, packages or cards, are behind hearing the delighted little voice of someone who just received a card from gramma. So little effort. So much joy.
You're right. Surprise packages have a certain magic about them, don't they?
